  1. Choose the Right Salt Plate

Because you are going to cook on a salt block (salt plate), so you have to make sure that you are cooking on a right salt block, You should make sure that the salt block you buy must be 2 inches thick. But if you don’t find 2 inches thick salt block, then a 1.5 inches block would also be good. Make sure that you have purchased the salt block that is made using the original Himalayan crystal salt.

  1. Set the Heat to Minimum at the Start

When you heat a salt block, then it will crack over time and eventually, you will experience a broken salt block due to that. If you want to ensure the long life of the salt block, then start heating the cooking plate at the minimal heat and keep heating it until it levels 200F. After that, increase the heat gradually in patches and when it becomes 500F, then you should place your food on it.

  1. Flipping the Meal

You don’t have to flip the meal again and again on the block. Before flipping it to the other side, make sure that the one side is completely cooked, and then flip to the other side to let it cook. Use a thin metal spatula to flip the food and use it to remove the food, when the cooking process is finished.

  1. Cleaning the Salt Block

In order to clean the salt block from the food that would be sticking to it, you should let it cool down to the room temperature. The pink salt block will take minimum one hour to cool down and once it is cool, use a soft cloth to scrub the block, and then wipe it clean with the help of a sponge. The less water you will use, the better it will be. Repeat the process until it is absolutely free from the food and after that store it somewhere that is cool and dry.
